My philosophy

I draw caricatures, pulling out the best qualities in my customers, capturing their likeness in 3-5 minutes for a black and white with another 3-5 minutes for color. Some caricature artists aim to roast their subjects, highlighting features their customers are most insecure about. I know those videos have been trending and some people really love them. I’ll do them if requested, but that’s not my preferred method. My default approach is to celebrate everyone’s unique brand of beauty and to leave my customers feeling great about the cartoon version of themselves I created on the page. I also just really love meeting new people, so getting drawn by me is more than just acquiring new wall art, it’s about having a memorable and enjoyable overall experience of connection. I live in Lynden, Washington, an hour from Vancouver BC, 2 hours from Seattle. I will travel anywhere so long as client covers travel costs. I also host paint & sip parties (Sip & Gogh) for those in my region. Beginner painters welcome! Stay tuned for my online Become a Professional Caricature Course for aspiring artists who want to make a living selling caricatures but aren’t sure how to get started. This course will offer everything from supplies to get started, caricature techniques, weekly drawing challenges to landing gigs, pricing your art, online marketing and more , with zoom calls weekly for portfolio reviews, community support, live trainings and lifetime access to my video library, launching sometime this summer!
